🐝Poll Results

Last week we asked if Mt. Juliet could add just ONE of these, what would you choose?

Results!

Major improvement to traffic and roads: 1st Place

Public pool or community rec center: 2nd Place

More local non chain restaurants: 3rd Place Tie

“Please fix the roads and traffic problem!! People going to other cities to eat and shop!!”

“MJ can't keep adding subdivisions without widening the roads, especially off S Mt Juliet Road.”

“Sit down restaurants with more than burgers.”

“Fix the ROADS ... add shoulders, widening is needed in several areas throughout Wilson Co (not just MJ). The roads have to support the infrastructure - especially with all of the neighborhoods going up left and right. Community activities, pools, pickleball courts ... all of that is great, but if you can't get there in a reasonable time frame then that's a problem!”

“Lebanon Road (70) at Bender's Ferry/ Golden Bear. With 3 more insane subdivisions that are being built now on Benders Ferry, can't imagine how much more congested that area will be.”

“The City’s proposed Rec Ctr (with a swimming pool and gymnasium) is a great plan.”

“Escape rooms. We currently go to Murfreesboro. None in Wilco.”

“It’s really hard to pick just one! Mt Juliet needs ALL of these things!!”

“MJ road is always full of traffic. The Central Pike entrance to I40 should help but it is a long way off.”

“To be honest, I am not against chain restaurants. I would like to see more upscale restaurants come to the Mount Juliet area. Sorely lacking options in that area in my opinion.”

“A public pool - but done right. The YMCA in Donelson is great - aside from the indoor pool, they have a large outdoor pool and a splash pad and pool for littles. Franklin and Brentwood also have great splash pad parks we can model after.”

Developers should be paying quite a bit more for ‘impact’ fees, because they have the single biggest impact on our community.

“Traffic is a nightmare on the south side of MJ thankfully I live on the north side. Only drawback is I will drive to Hermitage or Donelson before I would south MJ, unless I absolutely have to.”

“Community center with indoor walking trail.”

“Something with a nice playground and a splash pad south of the highway.”

“We specifically need a fitness center, such as Tru Fit/YMCA gym with childcare. The only places that offer childcare are boot camp type places, which are not my style of workout.”
