A Mt Juliet Invention You’ll Actually Use

This local Mt Juliet family saw a simple, everyday problem and decided to fix it.

If you’ve ever opened a cabinet and found a pile of mismatched cup lids — one for a Stanley, one for a Yeti, another that almost fits — you already understand the problem. Lid-Em is a newly invented universal, locking lid designed to fit the majority of regular cups in the cupboard, providing a lid for cups that never had the option.

They’re currently in the Kickstarter phase, which means backing the project is actually a pre-order. Your support helps fund the first production run while getting you one of the first lids when manufacturing begins.

This isn’t a big corporation — it’s a local MJ family building something practical, intentional, and genuinely useful. If you love supporting local ideas and homegrown innovation, this is a great one to check out!

Charis Health Center is a local nonprofit providing low-cost and free primary healthcare to uninsured and underinsured neighbors across Middle Tennessee. Based right here in Mt. Juliet, they also offer a hygiene pantry (open to all Wilson County residents), medications, and other essential resources for families in need. They’re serving thousands each year and are always looking for volunteers and community support.

What’s your favorite local restaurant?: “It’s hard to pick just one, but I definitely have my local favorites! I love dinner at Memo’s Mexican Kitchen—Katie's margaritas are always on point. For BBQ cravings or just comfort food in general, you can’t beat the Candied Rib Company. On the weekends, Hillside Hangout is my go-to and when it's a little nicer outside - the back is a great place to hang with the pups.

What local event or tradition do you look forward to every year? “It’s a toss-up for me between two Mt. Juliet favorites! I always look forward to the City of Mt. Juliet Fireworks Celebration at Circle P Ranch—live music, food trucks, and one of the best fireworks shows around. There’s just something magical about celebrating the Fourth with the community under the stars.”

Our Dog of the Week is Beaker — a 1-year-old Border Collie mix who weighs about 45 lbs and is as sweet as can be. He does great with kids and other animals, and he’s neutered and ready to find his forever home. 🐾💙
